What inspired your creative process in writing or illustrating your book?
When I drew it I remembered a lot my cousin Lorena, who had super curly hair and always said that she “envied” my straight hair, which by the way seemed really boring to me ;)
Favourite character or moment from the book – and why?
Without a doubt, the protagonist: Mira.
What themes or messages does your book raise?
Being able to accept and love ourselves just as we are.
How would you describe your artistic or writing style in three words?
Emotional and profound.
What aspect of the story did you most connect with, and how did it shape your illustrations?
When Myra discovers that her mother also has curly hair.

Acrylics / mixed media.
Favourite illustration – and why?
The one with the mother and Mira riding a bike, because they both recognise and accept each other just as they are.
